Columbus was purpose built for deep sea ocean cruising and is ideally suited for scenic cruise. She underwent an extensive refit in August 2015 and will be upgraded further in April 2017 before the start of her maiden CMV season.
Columbus has 775 passenger cabins including 64 deluxe balcony cabins and junior suites with150 cabins will be allocated for solos.
Single Inner Cabins
Located on Columbus Deck 8, these air conditioned cabins all offer private en-suite facilities with shower plus ample hanging and storage space. The cabins have one single bed with sofa bed and additional Pullman berth. They are equipped with a flat-screen television, hairdryer, fridge and personal safe
Columbus Leisure Facilities
At the Waterfront Restaurant you can opt for a full English breakfast, savour a leisurely lunch and enjoy a delightful five course dinner. If you prefer something more casual, the Plantation Bistro is open every day for buffet style breakfast, lunches and dinner, and when the weather is fine, the Alfresco Grill beckons.
Lounges & Bars
Columbus offers a choice of seven different lounges and bars including the Captain’s Club, Connexions, Raffles and Taverners Pub and Casino.
There are six entertainment venues including the impressive three-decked central Atrium, Dome Observatory & Nightclub and two-decked tiered Palladium Show Lounge where the talented Columbus show team and guest acts will perform for your enjoyment.
Out on Deck
Columbus offers expansive deck areas and promenades with traditional wooden decking, ideal for viewing on our scenic cruises. When the weather is fine, there are two heated swimming pools and a large screen for outdoor movies and sporting events.

According to international custom in the hospitality industry, tipping is accepted as the standard recognition of good service. For your greater convenience an automatic tipping system is operated aboard Columbus, so instead of worrying how much and when to tip, an amount of £5.00 per person per night will be debited to your on board account daily throughout the cruise.
On Board Payments
All prices on board Columbus is quoted in Sterling pound. A cashless system is in operation for all your on board purchases. An account is opened for you at the start of your cruise and you sign a debit when purchasing goods and services on board. This is charged to your shipboard account and a final invoice is presented at the end of the cruise itemising all charges. This can be settled by Travellers’ Cheques, which incur a 3% transaction fee, or by MasterCard or Visa credit cards, or by Visa debit cards, and of course, cash. It is not possible to use personal cheques to settle on board accounts. The Reception staff also offer a facility to purchase small amounts of certain foreign currencies for use in some of the ports of call.
Extras not included
The following extras are not included: travel insurance; travel joining costs to the port of embarkation (except for fly-cruises where specified); optional shore excursions; port parking; on board expenditure of a personal nature i.e. drinks, gifts, shopping, laundry, communications etc; any visa & health certificate charges that may apply; and crew gratuities which will be automatically billed to your on board account.

The average group size is 12 but the numbers vary depending on time of the year and destination.
What is the ratio of men to women?
We do not manage the proportion of women to men on our solo holidays. The ratio varies, but is usually around three women to each man.
How do I connect with other singles going on holiday?
Once you have booked your holiday, you can register to our site by using your booking reference number to join our on line community of single travellers. Never be bored or stressed in the airport again! Find your new friends before you travel with our email exchange service and online community. Are you a dating agency?
No, we do not design our holiday packages to have any aspect of introduction or dating services. We offer holidays purely for single travellers who want to go it alone but do not want to spend their holiday on their own. Good friends do certainly result from our holidays. Although individuals have met and become a couple as a result of our holidays this is not an intention of Solitair.

Will I be left on my own?
Only if you choose to be. Our hosts are at hand to greet you at the airport at your holiday destination and organise your ice breaker get together. On all our singles holidays we arrange meals together, offer advice on excursions and answer any questions. Of course there will be plenty of time and space for you to be alone whenever you choose.
When will I meet my Solitair Representative?
Your Solitair representative will meet you either at your resort or at your destination airport.Your representative will be available during your holiday to ensure everything runs smoothly and add that reassuring personal touch. What is smart price?
Smart price is an early booking discount and to take advantage of smart price you should book early and pay in full at the time of booking.
How much deposit is required to book the holiday?
You can secure your booking by paying £100 deposit for UK holidays, £200 for European holidays & £500 for Worldwide holidays anytime up to 10 weeks prior to departure.
How do I know if my booking has been confirmed?
When booking a holiday on-line or over phone, you will receive a confirmation in 24 hours with a booking reference by e mail. Please print the page or write down the booking reference number when you receive it. You will also receive an e-mail confirming the receipt of your payment.
When do I have to pay for my holiday in full?
The balance is required no later than 10 weeks before departure. If you are due to travel within 10 weeks of making the booking, payment is required in full when you book your holiday.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payment of your holiday can be made by Debit or Credit card over the phone or online. No surcharge is levied on Credit cards, Debit cards, Delta, Visa Debit, Master Debit, Solo and Electron cards
If I have a special request?
If you have a special request this must be made at the time of booking over the telephone or online booking. Please be advised certain request are subject to supplement for e.g: Pre bookable seats, Extra legroom seats, Pool / Sea view rooms. Special dietary request must be notified at the time of booking and vegetarian diet, gluten free diet can be catered on all our holidays. All special request must be notified at the time of booking and appropriate supplement if applicable must be paid to guarantee the service.
Will you send me a reminder when I have to pay the balance?
We do not issue reminders for the balance. Your holiday confirmation advice you the date for balance payment and serves as your final invoice.
Can I fly from my local airport?
To make your travel easier, we endeavour if available to offer direct flights to a selection of our destinations at a supplement. Or we can arrange regional connection to major airports.
When will I receive my tickets?
Your Electronic tickets and final travel details will be issued approximately 7-10 days prior to departure.

If there is a mistake in my confirmation, what should I do?
Telephone 0844 414 4010 quoting your booking reference number immediately on receipt of email invoice. Once confirmed and invoiced, any changes by you to your details or holiday arrangements will incur an administration fee of £50.
Can I cancel my holiday?
Yes you can. Please advise us by telephone immediately and also in writing. If you cancel you will be liable to pay cancellation fees detailed in our Booking Conditions.
Do I have to share a bedroom?
No, we recognise that people have the right to travel without the burden of additional supplement costs, which is why Solitair make no single supplement charges and we do not ask or expect you to share a room with one of your companions unless you decide to.
Do you charge a single room supplement?
No. Our prices are based on single occupnacy.
What is Share & Save option
Certain holidays we offer Share & Save option with same gender and similar age group to reduce the cost of the holiday.
Can two single friends travel together?
Although the vast majority of our customers travel alone, some people who have recently become alone or solo and are not ready to go alone do travel with a friend.
Can Solitair organise my car parking and overnight stay at the airport?
Yes just give us a call and we will be pleased to assist you with your arrangements.
Can I pre-book my seats on the aircraft?
Yes, you can pre book your seats on the aircraft for a supplement, please advise at the time of booking.
When are flight times confirmed?
If you contact our Customer Services approximately 7 – 10 days before the departure date, we should be able to confirm final flight times.
Why do you need my insurance and next of kin/friends details?
If you have taken your own insurance we ask for details so that in the event of an emergency, we can deal with any problems. Also to assist you if required to contact your next of kin or friend.
