Singles New Year Sahara Break

Make it a New Year’s Eve to remember at a time when as a singleton you often feel at a loose end, lonely or even isolated. Celebrate in the thrilling surrounds of the Sahara desert on an adventurous 4x4 excursion offering a night of Moroccan pleasures. Our New Year’s Eve party starts with watching the sunset on the Saharan dunes followed by dinner set inside a large open berber tent, where you will be served traditional dishes, live nomad music and an open fire under a canopy of stars.

Our celebrations provide you with the perfect opportunity to enjoy a singles short break, allowing you to enjoy your freedom, whilst enjoying great company, great food in a friendly and adventurous environment.


The New Year’s tour will start and finish with a stay at a 3 star hotel or traditional riad in the heart of bustling Marrakesh, where you will have your own room and en-suite.

This will be followed by two nights in a traditional Bivouac tent, in the heart of the desert, where you will sleep in a comfortable bed, enjoying shared facilities, where everything you need will be provided, including blankets, warm showers, toilets etc.

A local nomad guide will be on hand throughout the tour to impart their knowledge of the region whilst keeping you informed.

Thrill seekers will be able to enjoy a camel ride, whilst the more daring can descend the dunes sandboarding.


Day 1

Marrakech – overnight stay 3 star hotel or Riad on single occupancy B&B

Arrival in Marrakech and transfer to 3 star hotel/Riad (single occupancy room on Bed & Breakfast) Check-in at Hotel followed by a welcome information meeting advising about the New Year adventure break and meeting with your fellow travelers.

Day 2

Marrakech across Tiz’n Tiscka to Zagora

Depart with 4x4 from Marrakech, at 8.30 am. Passing the stunning Tiz’n Tichka, the highest mountain in Morocco,, and with spectacular panoramic scenery - mountains, valleys and an ever-changing landscape. There are views of the mountains, valley, and you are passing Berber villages on your way. On the way we will visit the magnificent Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – a UNESCO World heritage site and one of the best preserved and most spectacular kasbahs in Morocco. The Kasbah is also famous as a site for production of historical films. The trip continues via Ouarzazate and further through the beautiful Valle de Draa lined with palms and Berber villages. Dinner and sleep in 3star hotel (single occupancy room on Bed & Breakfast)hotel in Zagora.

Day 3

Zagora, to the nomad village M’hamid and Erg Chegaga

After continue to the gate of Sahara, the nomadvillage M’hamid. On the way we will stop at the pottery and old Kasbah in Tamegrout before arriving M'hamid at lunchtime. We continue into desert with 4x4 crossing hammada, dunes and oasis before ending at Erg Chegaga, the high dunes. Chegaga is the largest group of dunes in the region reaching a height of 300 m. Camel trekking, sandboarding and sunset trip. And the new year celebration can start.

Day 4

The old Paris-Dakar-route back to Marrakech

After an amazing sunrise in the dunes you will be served breakfast in the open space in the bivouac or in restaurant tent. After this last morning and some days experience in the desert - there is time to continue - crossing desert via the old Paris-Dakar route and the dry Lake Iriqi to Foum Zguid at the edge of desert east of High Atlas. From here we continue via the village Tazenackt before heading back to Marrakech. We arrives Marrakech at late afternoon. Over night stay in 3 star Hotel /Riad on B&B

Day 5

Transfer to airport after breakfast for flight home.

Incl: Transport, 3 Riad/Hotel 3star, 1 Camp dinner b&b , breakfast, 2 dinner, camels ride, sandboarding, local nomad folklore. Incl. New Year Eve Celebration

Solitair arrange specific holidays for singles who want to match their age range and interests. We cater for single travellers from the ages of 29 to 79 with some holiday highlighted for particular age groups as below.

What is the average group size on Solitair singles holidays?
The average group size is 12 but the numbers vary depending on time of the year and destination.

What is the ratio of men to women?
We do not manage the proportion of women to men on our solo holidays. The ratio varies, but is usually around three women to each man.

How do I connect with other singles going on holiday?
Once you have booked your holiday, you can register to our site by using your booking reference number to join our on line community of single travellers. Never be bored or stressed in the airport again! Find your new friends before you travel with our email exchange service and online community. Perhaps to meet before you travel at an airport lounge, generally get to know your fellow travellers before to go on holiday or just to chat and share experiences.

Are you a dating agency?
No, we do not design our holiday packages to have any aspect of introduction or dating services. We offer holidays purely for single travellers who want to go it alone but do not want to spend their holiday on their own. Good friends do certainly result from our holidays. Although individuals have met and become a couple as a result of our holidays this is not an intention of Solitair.

First time Traveller?
We understand that going away on your own for the first time can be daunting, which is why becoming part of a Solitair group can help you feel more at ease. I have never travelled on my own before ?
Don't worry, more than half of our single customers have never booked on their own before, so you'll be amongst likeminded people with something already in common. 

Will I be left on my own?
Only if you choose to be. Our hosts are at hand to greet you at the airport at your holiday destination and organise your ice breaker get together. On all our singles holidays we arrange meals together, offer advice on excursions and answer any questions. Of course there will be plenty of time and space for you to be alone whenever you choose.

When will I meet my Solitair Representative?
Your Solitair representative will meet you either at your resort or at your destination airport.Your representative will be available during your holiday to ensure everything runs smoothly and add that reassuring personal touch. Our friendly hosts are specially selected from the respective countries, as our experience has shown that their local knowledge and skills will add value to your holiday and also we are committed in supporting local tourism.

Can I extend my holiday?
If you would like to extend your holiday at the time of booking just ask and we can sometimes arrange this for you.

What is smart price?
Smart price is an early booking discount and to take advantage of smart price you should book early and pay in full at the time of booking.

How much deposit is required to book the holiday?
You can secure your booking by paying £100 deposit for UK holidays, £200 for European holidays & £500 for Worldwide holidays  anytime up to 10 weeks prior to departure.

How do I know if my booking has been confirmed?
When booking a holiday on-line or over phone, you will receive a confirmation in 24 hours with a booking reference by e mail. Please print the page or write down the booking reference number when you receive it. You will also receive an e-mail confirming the receipt of your payment.

When do I have to pay for my holiday in full?
The balance is required no later than 10 weeks before departure. If you are due to travel within 10 weeks of making the booking, payment is required in full when you book your holiday.

What payment methods do you accept?

Payment of your holiday can be made by Debit or Credit card over the phone or online. No surcharge is levied on Credit cards, Debit cards, Delta, Visa Debit, Master Debit, Solo and Electron cards 

If I have a special request?

If you have a special request this must be made at the time of booking over the telephone or online booking. Please be advised certain request are subject to supplement for e.g: Pre bookable seats, Extra legroom seats, Pool / Sea view rooms.  Special dietary request must be notified at the time of booking and vegetarian diet, gluten free diet can be catered on all our holidays.  All special request must be notified at the time of booking and appropriate supplement if applicable must be paid to guarantee the service.

Will you send me a reminder when I have to pay the balance?
We do not issue reminders for the balance. Your holiday confirmation advice you the date for balance payment and serves as your final invoice.

Can I fly from my local airport?
To make your travel easier, we endeavour if available to offer direct flights to a selection of our destinations at a supplement. Or we can arrange regional connection to major airports.

When will I receive my tickets?
Your Electronic tickets and final travel details will be issued approximately 7-10 days prior to departure.

Booking Information
If there is a mistake in my confirmation, what should I do?
Telephone 0844 414 4010 quoting your booking reference number immediately on receipt of email invoice. Once confirmed and invoiced, any changes by you to your details or holiday arrangements will incur an administration fee of £50.

Can I cancel my holiday?
Yes you can. Please advise us by telephone immediately and also in writing. If you cancel you will be liable to pay cancellation fees detailed in our Booking Conditions.

Do I have to share a bedroom?
No, we recognise that people have the right to travel without the burden of additional supplement costs, which is why Solitair make no single supplement charges and we do not ask or expect you to share a room with one of your companions unless you decide to.

Do you charge a single room supplement?
No. Our prices are based on single occupnacy.

What is Share & Save option 
Certain holidays we offer Share & Save option with same gender and similar age group to reduce the cost of the holiday.

Can two single friends travel together?
Although the vast majority of our customers travel alone, some people who have recently become alone or solo and are not ready to go alone do travel with a friend.

Can Solitair organise my car parking and overnight stay at the airport?
Yes just give us a call and we will be pleased to assist you with your arrangements.

Can I pre-book my seats on the aircraft?
Yes, you can pre book your seats on the aircraft for a supplement, please advise at the time of booking.

When are flight times confirmed?
If you contact our Customer Services approximately 7 – 10 days before the departure date, we should be able to confirm final flight times.

Why do you need my insurance and next of kin/friends details?
If you have taken your own insurance we ask for details so that in the event of an emergency, we can deal with any problems. Also to assist you if required to contact your next of kin or friend.
