Singles Holidays Majorca, Spain

Majorca is Spain’s largest island and is a destination of many contrasts - on one sunsoaked side it is enriched with beautiful and enchanting scenery - the highlight of which is of course the expansive coastlines, but equally fascinating is the architecture such as the Gothic Cathedral in Palma de Mallorca, which comes complete with stunning interior features that were designed by Antonio Gaudi. It’s our favourite island in Spain to indulge in a little cycling and if you’re a walker - then the Tramuntana mountains in the north are perfect - and provide the perfect elevation point to take in the breathtaking sites out over the island.

Our Resort - Santa Ponsa

With its long stretches of sandy beaches it’s unsurprising that Santa Ponsa - situated in the Southwest of Mallorca - is a well known holiday destination. The illustrious ‘Big beach’ a 560-metre stretch of coastline around which most of the town is centred is what draws the crowds and keeps visitors returning year after year.

You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to alfresco dining, as the town centre offers a vast array of restaurant and bar choices, shoppers can indulge in a wide range of boutiques and gift shops, all set amongst a backdrop of mountains and forest, whilst its sprawling outskirts are home to some of the world’s best golf resorts. Golf Santa Ponsa I, II and III, which have two 18-hole courses and a 9-hole course.

If you fancy exploring the area further, then the Tramuntana mountain range offers a wealth of day hikes, making Santa Ponsa an ideal base for hikers and mountain bikers looking for thrills on the many trials the landscape has to offer.

Rey Don Jaime Hotel ****

Located high up in the beautiful area of Santa Ponsa with unrivalled views of the Mediterranean lies the picturesque 4 star Zafiro Rey Don Jaime Hotel. This chic, contemporary hotel oozes style and sophistication, whilst its stunning pool and sun terrace is perfectly situated close to the beach yet elevated so you can enjoy your own slice of heaven.

Those who enjoy culinary delights will appreciate the hotel's buffet restaurant, serving delicious international and regional cuisine, with many appetising dining options available to you throughout your stay. Guests can also enjoy a drink at the bar after dinner.

Back at street level you can discover the natural charms of Calvià and its cultural heritage, once you’ve done exploring, the centre of Palma and all it has to offer is less than 15 minutes away by car.

Each of the 419 rooms at the Zafiro Rey Don Jaime Hotel have stylish interiors that are light and airy, with balconies that let in the fresh sea air to leave you feeling relaxed and at peace whilst enjoying your stay. Each one comes with an ensuite bathroom, minibar, safety deposit, hairdryer, satellite TV and air conditioning.

The water - The beach is just a matter of moment away - so make sure you indulge in a little (or a lot) of sunbathing, and perhaps some water sports - such as water skiing, jet skiing and snorkelling.

The Other Beaches - One of the many great things about our resort in Mallorca is that it’s close enough to several other resorts, villages and coves to easily explore the other beaches in the area - our favourites are easily Cala Bona and Cala Millor.

Indulge Your Inner child - It’s true that the island is a big it with families - as such, you’ll find plenty of activities aimed at families. We think that Go-karting and the fantastic water parks in the area provide a fun and action packed way to get to know your fellow single travellers!

Nightlife - Head to the resort bar or the local clubs or take an evening or two in nearby Magalluf or Punta Ballen - both of which have a fantastic collection of bars, clubs and restaurants.

Relax - Take a break from the beaches on the golf course if you like it or instead do a little Horseback riding in the countryside - which is a great way to see this part of the island. Or if you feel like something a little closer to your bed - then simply jump in the jacuzzi and lay back. In the morning - waking up to the sounds of the sea should be enough to calm your soul each and every day.

The Countryside - Explore the surrounding countryside on foot or by bike for incredible views of the island and the Mediterranean. Make sure you take your camera as those vistas are truly indescribable!

The Food - Try some traditional Spanish tapas in one of the many cafes and restaurants overlooking the bay in Palma Nova
