Wander through a Spice Bazaar before enjoying a cruise down the Bosphorus
Day 1: Istanbul
On arrival, you'll meet all your new friends in the hotel before heading out to St Sophia, which reigned as the greatest church in Christendom until 1453, then on to Topkapi Palace, built between 1459-1465, the residence of the sultans for almost three centuries.
Day 2: Istanbul
Day 2 begins with a sightseeing tour of the Hippodrome, sporting and political centre of the old city, followed by the tiled Blue Mosque and the underground Basilica Cistern. You'll wander through the Spice Bazaar before enjoying a cruise down the Bosphorus. On disembarking, you'll enjoy the ultimate retail therapy experience in the 4000 shops collected in the famous Grand Bazaar.
Day 3: Istanbul/Canakkale
After breakfast you'll set out for the Gallipoli Peninsula, visiting Kabatepe War Museum, Brighton Beach, Anzac Cove, English Memorial Cemetery and Chunuk Bair. Your group will explore The Nek and the original war tunnels and trenches at Johnston Jolly accompanied by our professional guide. After a busy day we'll check-in to our hotel for a delightful dinner together.
Day 4: Canakkale/Bergama/Kusadasi
Your exciting agenda begins with Homer's Troy, where you'll see the ruins of nine cities built one on top of another and the famous Trojan Horse. Next, we visit the ancient kingdom of Pergamon, home of the Acropolis and the Temple of Athena, before viewing the Red Courtyard and the ruins of Asklepieon. Finally we'll travel through the beautiful olive tree dotted countryside to our hotel in Kusadasi.
Day 5: Kusadasi/Ephesus/ Pamukkale via Aphrodisias
Today's adventure starts at the ancient city of Ephesus where a walking tour will include . Ephesus Museum and The Great Theatre, (built between 41 and 117 AD and still used today). You'll visit the Gymnasium of Vedus, the magnificent Library of Celsius, the Temple of Hadrian and the House of Virgin Mary via the famous ruins of Aphrodisias. Arriving at our hotel in Pamukkale in the late afternoon, we'll have time to relax, unwind and enjoy the fabulous thermal pools.
Day 6: Pamukkale/Antalya
After all your relaxation, you should be re-energised and ready to explore the amazing white terraces of Pamukkale (cotton castle) and the ancient Roman spa city of Hierapolis. A journey down off the plateau takes us to the Mediterranean coastal city of Antalya for an evening of dinner and fun.
Day 7: Antalya
After breakfast you'll visit prize-winning Antalya museum, one of the world's most notable archaeology museums, with 14 exhibition halls and a 7000 metre open air art gallery. You'll tour the historical old city of Antalya known as Kaleici (the inner castle), who's restoration won the Oscar of tourism, the Golden Apple Prize. You'll see Kursunlu waterfall and Perge, first settled in 1200 B.C. including the Hellenistic gate, the agora, the nymphaeum, the colonnaded streets, sarcophagi, basilica and the acropolis. Following all that tradition and culture we head back to the hotel for dinner
Day 8: Depart to the airport
The final day! After breakfast it's time to share contact details with your new found friends and set off for Antalya Airport to say a reluctant goodbye to Turkey.
