Chalet Gueret Information
Chalet Gueret sits in the ancient hamlet of Essert Romand, close to the resorts of Morzine, Avoriaz and Les Gets in the Haute Savoie region of France.
It stands in a quiet location above the church. To three sides are woods and fields, to the front, a handful of old buildings and, as you can see from the photograph on the right, a spectacular view down the Montriond valley.
A short stroll away is La Petite Auberge, a true Alpine restaurant and bar, famous locally for the quality of its simple food. The surrounding area is not only for those interested in skiing and snowboarding.
On the snow, there are guided snowshoe walks, husky sledging and skidoo rides, while the centres of Morzine and Les Gets offer a charm all of their own. They have been established as mountain villages for centuries, and among the non-skiing attractions are weekly markets, good shops, ice skating, a museum, a fromagerie where you can see cheese made by hand, swimming pools and cinemas. Both villages also have a number of noted restaurants, lively bars and night clubs.
