Discovering Gozo

 

1. Driving

Mecca for divers but the Blue Hole off Dwejra Bay on the West coast is the most famous dive site.
Caves, drop offs, boulder slopes and chimney make this a fantastic dive.

2. Best View

Ta’ Cenc cliffs is the only place in Gozo where one can enjoy uninterrupted views of three islands of the archipelago.

3. Luxury pampering

The Maltese go to Gozo to “ get away from it all” Why not indulge in one of the islands Spas for pure unadulterated relaxation and spoil yourself with one of the many treatment available.

The island’s coastline is dotted with idyllic small bays and coves but Ramla Bay on the South eastern coast of Gozo’s primary and most beautiful beach. The rich golden-red stretch of sand lies at the end of a fertile valley of terraced fields and is surrounded by spectacular cliffs.

5. Ancient history

Ggantija Temples outside the village of Xaghra are the oldest free standing structures in the world dating back to around 3600BC making them 1,000 years older than the Egyptian pyramids.

6. Hiking

Gozo is a hikers’ paradise
Offering an endless choice of walks through charming old villages, historic locations and stunning countryside. Best during mild winter months from October to  May when the island is lush and green and also summer with an al fresco lunch.

8. Architecture

Over the enturies Gozo suffered several pirate attacks, so defending the island was a top priority for Kinights of St John. The Citadel above the capital Victoria takes visitors on a journey through medival Gozo.

9. Traditional Crafts

Ta ‘Dbiegi Crafts Village in Gharb presents a collection of the island’s best hand made bobbin lace, mouthblown and  handcut  glass, pottery, silver and gold fi;igree jewellery.

10. Religious culture

The Basilica of Ta’ Pinu overlooking the village of Gharb is probably the holiest site on Gozo and a populr place of pilgrimage where a Gozitan woman heard the voice of the Virgin Mary inside the old chapel in 1880’s



Getting there is easy!

A short ferry crossing from Malta takes 25 mins.
